The Big Fizzle

The problem

The noted cosmologist Stephen Hawking has died for the second time. Hawking, best known for his theoretical explanation of the material universe, was originally a proponent of the Big Bang theory. In brief, the Big Bang theory suggests that all the matter necessary to build a solid, observable universe came together and then exploded, sending debris in all directions and forming a universe teeming with life. Later, Hawking, a devout atheist, abandoned his belief that the Big Bang was the beginning of everything because he couldn't explain where the material to build the universe came from. Alas, it is the stumbling block all theoretical physicists face when trying to justify the origins of life as an accident. Steven Hawking and God did agree on one thing: the universe is multi-dimensional. Only one dimension can be observed with the naked eye. Therefore, any world beyond three dimensions can be observed only by theory or faith.

Design takes Intelligence

The difference between theory and faith is far-reaching. Theory is someone's best guess based on unconfirmed evidence. Faith is confirmed by what God has made. “Forever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power, and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship [all His creation, the wonderful things that He has made], so that they [who fail to believe and trust in Him] are without excuse and without defense.”(Rom. 1:20) The above verse simply points to design in the universe. Design requires intelligence, whereas accidents cause mayhem. “In the beginning, God created by forming from nothing the heavens and the earth.”(Gen.1:1) God is not a resident of the material universe. He designed the world as we know it from a different dimension.

The Fizzel

The Big Bang never happened! Life started when “God who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist.”(Ro. 4:17)   Don't accept non-verified science rhetoric as truth. Steven Hawking had a rude awakening when he passed from this life to the next. Unfortunately, Hawking once stated that “Heaven was a fairy story for people afraid of the dark.”  Wildly respected as one of science’s best guessers, Hawking will now be spending an eternity with his many unrepentant friends, wondering what might have been. The worship of science is a leading cause of the spiritual decline in our 21st-century culture. Look around at all the wonderful things God has made without the help of man, and let faith be your guide. For more about creation, read “Beam me up Commander. It's free.
