When Hell Struck Florida

The unthinkable has happened again. A deranged person walked into a public high school and murdered 14 unsuspecting kids and 3 of their beloved teachers. The entire country witnessed the graphic sight on live TV, further numbing our senses by the frequency of unprovoked violence. Immediately, the same old tired debate took to the airways with what caused the horrific act and how do we prevent the next one? The list seems to grow with every mindless act. More mental health facilities, stricter gun laws, less personal privacy, better social network monitoring. So it goes, on and on because the real source of the cause is never publicly addressed. The most influential minds of this generation have tackled the question with little success. Politicians, doctors, psychologists and even clergy refuse to acknowledge the attack on humanity comes straight from Hell. There is no human fix, it’s a spiritual battle fought with spiritual weapons. “For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies—the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world.”(Eph.6:12)

Even Jesus had to defeat the Prince of Darkness before he could begin his ministry. “Satan took him to Jerusalem to the roof of the Temple. Jump off, he said, and prove you are the Son of God; for the Scriptures declare, ‘God will send his angels to keep you from harm,’ . . . They will prevent you from smashing on the rocks below. Jesus retorted, It also says not to put the Lord your God to a foolish test!” (Matt. 4:5-7)  This verse demonstrates how Hell works. Jesus had just spent 40 days without food, he was tired and weak, and now he was challenged to commit suicide. When you are at your weakest, most vulnerable place, you will be tested to do despicable things. Most will reject the temptation; many will not. Hell is the dark side of the spiritual dimension and has access to the human spirit. No one is above the test! Most will read this article with disdain, comparing it to comic book mentality, and that is the problem. You cannot solve a problem without first, defining the problem.

Hell has been placed on notice as the end of this age is winding down, and that explains why the hellish activity is on the increase. Mass murder is just one sign of our rapidly changing culture. The public school system has proven to be a colossal failure in many ways. Traditional family values in decline. Young people are overwhelmed with horrific violence and perverted sexual behavior glorified in movies, TV, video games, on the internet and every other source of entertainment media. The most disturbing but predictable cause of Hell unleashed is the decline of Christian ideals “That day of the Lord will not come until the turning away from God happens. And that day will not come until the Man of Evil appears, the one who belongs to hell.”(2 Thess. 2:3) Our present-day culture has leagued with Hell, the return of Jesus Christ to defeat the rebellion can’t be far off. What can we do in the meantime to protect our loved ones? First, become familiar with the list of spiritual weapons in following verses:  “To end my letter I tell you, be strong in the Lord and his great power.  Wear the full armor of God. Wear God’s armor so that you can fight against the devil’s clever tricks. That is why you need to get God’s full armor. Then on the day of evil, you will be able to stand strong. And when you have finished the whole fight, you will still be standing. So stand strong with the belt of truth tied around your waist, and on your chest wear the protection of right living.  On your feet wear the Good News of peace to help you stand strong. And also use the shield of faith with which you can stop all the burning arrows that come from the Evil One.  Accept God’s salvation as your helmet. And take the sword of the Spirit—that sword is the teaching of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times. Pray with all kinds of prayers, and ask for everything you need. To do this, you must always be ready. Never give up. Always pray for all of God’s people. (Eph.6) Second, these values must be practiced to be effective. The decline of Christian faith around the world is indicative of global conditions, but the protection of our homes and loved ones is our responsibility.
