When the Earth's population became so corrupt that their minds stayed on evil continuously, God began to gather the storm clouds of judgment long before the rains came. Noah started work on the ark 100 years before the storm came and destroyed the people. “So God said to Noah, “Everyone has filled the Earth with anger and violence. So I will destroy all living things. I will remove them from the Earth.” (Ge.6:13) God has used severe weather to forewarn coming events or to administer judgement on unrepentant societies throughout history. When Moses appealed to the King of Egypt to release the Nation of Israel from bondage, the King refused. God answered the King’s refusal with an overwhelming thunderstorm. “ So Moses raised his walking stick into the air, and the Lord sent hail with thunder and lightning down on the Earth. The Lord caused hail to fall all over Egypt”(Ex.9:23) The Jews were soon let go and began their journey home. Violent storms like hurricanes and tornados have increased in severity. Too much or too little rain has caused serious worldwide flooding or resulted in famines. Earthquakes in many different places, shifting temperatures, it's hard to argue against today's changing weather environment.
One of the prevailing signs of the end of the age is famine. Two conditions are predominant in food shortages, weather and war. “ I will bring war, famine, and disease against them.”(24:10) Jesus was very clear when he explained to his disciples what the end of the age would look like. “Then Jesus said to them, “Nations will fight against other nations. Kingdoms will fight against other kingdoms. There will be great earthquakes, sicknesses, and other bad things in many places. In some places, there will be no food for people to eat. Terrible things will happen, and amazing things will come from heaven to warn people.” (Luke 21:10-11) These are sobering words coming from someone who knows the end from the beginning. It also stands as a stark warning to be mindful of the times we live in and the environment around us.
Jesus warned of a major prophetic event at a time when people will not be ready. “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”(Matt. 24:44) The rapture of the church! All believers will be changed from physical to spiritual beings in an instant. they will be caught up to meet Jesus in the air escaping God’s final judgment on unrepentant Earth. God always gives warning before judgment falls. Could recent weather patterns be part of that final warning? The rapture of the church is imminent, are you ready?
